How does the Korean Oxyion Facial work? Here's the science:

The Korean Oxyion Facial derived its name from the anti-inflammatory, restorative approach to skin
treatments adopted in South Korea. This facial includes three key technologies, that in combination are targeting the unhealthy levels of inflammation and damage that is present within your skin. By correcting and restoring this damage, your skin can start the journey to looking glowing, radiant and refreshed. These technologies include:

  • Oxygen infusion: enhances skin health by delivering pure oxygen to the deeper layers, boosting cellular energy and promoting faster cell turnover. This increased oxygen supply improves
circulation, supports collagen production, and helps detoxify cells, resulting in a brighter, firmer,
    and more resilient complexion.
  • Negative ion therapy: benefits the skin on a cellular level by neutralizing free radicals, which
helps reduce oxidative stress—a key factor in premature aging. Negative ions boost cellular
function by increasing oxygen flow and enhancing energy production within skin cells, supporting
faster repair and regeneration. Additionally, negative ions improve hydration and pH balance, leading to improved skin barrier function, helping to create a healthy, glowing complexion with
    improved resilience to daily stressors.
  • Red & Infrared light: rejuvenates skin by stimulating collagen production, increasing circulation, and boosting cellular energy. Red light firms the skin and reduces fine lines, while infrared penetrates deeper to enhance healing and reduce inflammation. Together, they improve elasticity, clarity, and overall radiance for a healthier, youthful complexion.

FAQs

We recommend having the facial on a regular basis to best results from reducing inflammation and supporting your skin health. As part of maintaining your skin we recommend the Korean Oxyion facial every 4-6 weeks. If you are treating a specific skin concern such as acne, we may recommend this treatment more frequently, such as every 2 weeks until your skin condition is stabilised.

The Korean Oxyion Facial is suitable for all skin types and is very safe due to it being a non-invasive treatment. The facial is a relaxing, enjoyable treatment that supports the health of your skin. This treatment would not be suitable if you are allergic to any of the skincare ingredients, taking medicine that makes your skin photosensitive and is not recommended if you have COPD due to the oxygen therapy. It is also not recommended if you are pregnant or breast feeding. If you have any questions about whether this treatment is suitable for you, please submit an enquiry on our booking page and a friendly member of our team will be happy to help.

We recommend stopping retinol, AHA’s & BHA’s for 72 hours prior to your treatment (unless advised
otherwise by our Calla Clinic team). This is to ensure your skin can get the full benefit from the active
ingredients in your facial and will avoid over-exfoliation or irritation caused by the medical grade products
used. If you are using any prescription only product such as tretinoin cream, this should be stopped 5
days prior to your treatment. If you have any further questions about managing your skincare around
your treatment, please get in touch and a member of our team will happily help.

Yes- this facial can be performed regularly in combination with other treatments and will help enhance results by supporting the renewal of your skin cells, improve healing and optimise the penetration of your skincare products.
