How Do Exosomes Work?

Exosomes work like tiny messengers that help your skin cells communicate and repair themselves. They are packed with important proteins and growth factors that tell your skin to produce more or less of certain components. For example, examples contain messages to tell your skin to make more collagen or to reduce the production of unwanted pigmentation.

When exosomes are applied during a skin treatment, they send signals to your skin cells to boost healing, reduce inflammation, and improve overall skin texture. This helps with issues like inflammation, sun damage, acne, pigmentation and fine lines making your healthier.

Conditions treated by exosomes

Exosome therapy is effective for treating a wide range of skin concerns due to its broad anti- inflammatory and regenerative effects, including:

  • Ageing Skin: Reduces fine lines and wrinkles, enhancing overall skin texture and firmness.
  • Sun Damage: repair and rejuvenate skin affected by UV exposure, improving
    pigmentation and tone.
  • Acne Scars: Promotes healing and regeneration, reducing the appearance of scars and
    irregularities.
  • Rosacea and Redness: Decreases inflammation and soothes sensitive skin, minimising
    redness and irritation.
  • Pigmentation: helps to reduce unwanted pigmentation in conditions such as melasma.
  • Dry or Dehydrated Skin: Boosts hydration and helps skin barrier function, enhancing
    moisture retention.
  • Eczema: The anti-inflammatory effects of exosomes help to reduce eczema flares.

Overall, exosome therapy promotes skin healing and regeneration, making it suitable for various
cosmetic and dermatological concerns.

FAQs

Quality of Exosomes Used
It is important to know that not all exosome treatments are the same! There is a growing market of exosome therapy and the quality of the exosome and the signals it contains is extremely important. As experienced medical professionals with a passion for regenerative skin treatments we have extensively researched exosome therapy and selected the best quality exosomes to treat your skin. The results you achieve are important to us and we only choose the best for our
patients.

Exosomes can be derived from plants, marine sources or human cells- in the UK (any many other countries globally), human exosomes are illegal due to the lack of clinical trials evidencing their safety. That leaves us with the next best options, which are salmon derived (surprisingly salmon share 70% of the same DNA as humans) or human-derived exosomes that have been
precisely engineered to contain all the beneficial ingredients without any remaining human
components. Both are effective and any questions you may have about our exosomes can be
answered during your consultation.

Exosome Delivery
The method of delivery of exosomes into your skin is just as important as the quality of exosome itself. We use our Dermapen microneedling device which creates upto 2000microchannels per second into your skin (the most per second compared to any other device on the market). We follow this with our TargetCool Spray which uses compressed CO2 gas to push exosomes deeper into your skin- increasing absorption by 150%!

After an exosome treatment downtime is typically minimal. Immediately following the procedure, you may
experience some redness a sensation similar to a light sunburn, which usually subsides within 24 to 48
hours. For most people, these effects fade quickly, allowing them to resume normal activities the next
day. In some cases, the skin may appear slightly dry or flaky for a few days as it heals. To maximize
results, it’s important to follow post-treatment care instructions, such as avoiding direct sun exposure and
using gentle skincare products- this will all be explained during your consultation.

We advise a minimum of three treatments at 4-week intervals. However, more treatments may be
recommended depending on your skin concerns and overall skin health. The results of exosome
treatments are gradual and take time- the benefits of this treatment continue for several months after
treatment on a cellular level.

The treatment is not painful, but you will feel a slight stinging sensation. We recommend not using
numbing cream for exosome therapy- the reason for this is numbing cream will damage the exosomes
due to alterations of the skin pH. The first part of the treatment involves microneedling your skin with our
exosomes which is the slightly stingy part, this is over very quickly! This is followed by the Target Cool
spray which soothes and cools the skin, calming any remaining stinging. Overall, the treatment is very
well tolerated.
